Very old and large conus shells, bone beads, small shells, and brass circular closures.
19th century or earlier. Bontoc

A woman’s belt of very great age, as seen from the condition of the faded indigo textile. The center portion is a pouch for small valuables, the closures are the very large and old conus shells (length of the two largest shells is 1o ½ cm.) A decorative fringe of smaller shells and banana seeds decorates the mid portion. An important example due to its age.
